Lake Worth

Sunday August 19th, 2007 - I had a few minutes and a couple of quarters and headed for the beach. The video consists of 4 interviews taken at random and in sequence. The other two recent interviews also show agreement. We will be following up with more.

So far, beach goers

are unanimous...

After last year's poll of a hundred fifty people at the beach revealed a scorching rejection of the Greater Bay plan; today and last week was no different. As seen in these videos, no one can figure out why the city would do something so illogical as to take away an historical attraction of Lake Worth Beach - it's beach front parking. And the upscale restaurants were rejected as well.

It's too bad that over the years, the various beach committees didn't reach out to the public. Although they claim they did just that, it was obvious they didn't when they announced that the public would finance their idea. The public turned around and overwhelmingly voted it down. So much for the acclaimed communication with the public.

And the irony is, that when citizens reach out to the public when the city doesn't... the city sues them for it! Doesn't the city want to know what the public is thinking?

The bigger picture here is that all of these people will remember what a certain three commissioners tried to do to THEIR beach without THEIR permission or knowledge !! These three are done politically. No matter how you try to rationalize this deal, the bottom line is that the citizens of Lake Worth have had a big piece of duct tape slapped across their mouths and a SHUT UP AND SIT DOWN sign plastered on their foreheads by outside developers and three of their commissioners !!!Oh well, I guess thats what happens when you sell your vote for a rib dinner. The people of Lake Worth love their beach and want it protected. When you don't learn from history.....
